Hi everyone! I have another awesome product review for you today. I was given an opportunity to review some products from Ecostore USA. I was excited, because all of their products are made from plant and mineral based ingredients and are non-toxic. So many people have allergies or sensitivities to additives and artificial ingredients; these products could be a wonderful alternative. For the purpose of this review, they sent me their Orange and Patchouli Body Wash and their Rose and Cardamon Body Wash to try and keep.

When I first opened both bottles I was struck by how fresh and clean they smelled. Their ingredients speak for themselves:

PRODUCT REVIEW-GLEE GUM

Hi everyone. So sorry I have been gone for so long. There has been a lot going on with work, family etc. and I haven't had time to update! I am back today to review some awesome Glee Gum products I received! In addition to some awesome samples (cinnamon was my personal favorite) I also received a Make Your Own Chewing Gum Kit! Making the gum was super easy and fun. It wasn't messy, and didn't take very long. Each kit contains enough ingredients to make 50 pieces of gum! I would highly recommend it for both kids and for adults (like me) who like fun little projects!

FRIDAY'S FEATURED SELLER(AND A BIG THANK YOU)-BLUE SHED CRAFTS

A few weeks ago, my husband and I found a tumor on my dog, Buddy. We were terrified that it was cancer. I posted something on the Etsy forums about it, and the response was overwhelming. The kindness that people showed me was truly amazing. One Etsy seller, Blue Shed Crafts, sent Buddy a gorgeous Knitted Dog Coat all the way to us in California from the UK! Thankfully, Buddy's surgery went very well. We ended up neutering him at the same time the tumor was removed to prevent any further issues. It took Buddy a while to heal; he isn't the type of dog who does well when forced to sit still. He ended up eating one of his stitches, but everything turned out well. Since he has been feeling so much better and the weather here is getting cooler, I wanted to post some pictures of him in his beautiful coat!!!

He loves it! It is so well made, soft, and comfy. There are three lovely wooden buttons on the side that make taking it on and off extremely easy for both of us. He is really particular about clothing; if anything is too constrictive or stiff he has a fit and tears it off of himself in seconds. He wore this all evening! Hi everyone! I have a great product review for you! I recently had the opportunity to try out an awesome new product, and I am excited to share it with you. It's called Scandle.

I received the Shimmering Lotion Travel Candle in Copa Cabana to try. When I first opened the package, I was immediately excited to use it because of it's yummy scent. It somehow managed to smell like a tropical paradise without being cloying or overwhelming. I lit the candle right away, and tried a bit on my skin. I was really surprised because it wasn't nearly as hot as I expected; in fact, it burns at only two degrees above body temperature. What I noticed next was that it did not feel oily. I have used other massage candles and didn't like them because of their oily consistency. This was much different. It went on very smooth and absorbed well. It left my skin with a healthy glow, not an oily or glittery appearance. I read on the website that you could also just scoop a bit out of the container and use it without actually lighting the wick, and this worked well too!

Reasons why I love the Scandle:

It is paraffin and petroleum free
It is made using high grade cosmetic soy
The wick is cotton and contains no lead or zinc
It smells wonderful
It makes your skin feel and look beautiful
It is vegan and cruelty free

I haven't been this happy with something I made in a while! I had so much fun making this piece. I created it by cutting a one inch circle of copper, doming it using a dapping block, and adding a heat patina. Then I punched holes in the sides of the piece of copper and accented it with labradorite and moonstone to create a bracelet. What do you think? 2. Description of what you make: First I thought about my Etsy shop as a place where people could buy wet felted and needle felted jewelry. Later there appeared fabric flowers from my summer collection and now I plan to add more creations-a combination of crocheted and felted elements with beads, fabric and driftwood.
3. Your favorite creation: I can’t say which item from my shop is my favorite, I like them all.
4. How you learned your craft: I discovered felting during the celebrations of the Riga City Days two years ago. It was an event organized by MUSEUM OF DECORATIVE ARTS AND DESIGN ( DEKORATĪVĀS MĀKSLAS UN DIZAINA MUZEJS) when everyone could try to make something by their own hands using needle felting. I was fascinated with that and began to look for information on the Internet and discovered wet felting technics and, then, Etsy!
5. Years you have been creating: I remember myself with a needle and thread since I was seven years old. I must say thanks to my grandmother who taught me how to knit, sew and embroider. I like a combination of felted wool and beads and unusual combinations of materials.

Beautiful Schlopp I picked this shop because I recently acquired one of her beautiful necklaces and was thrilled with it! Her work is creative, beautiful, and meticulous. 2. Description of what you make: I make Beautiful Schlopp- casual, fun, unique, sloppy yet beautiful, one-of-a-kind items for everyday wear or use! I'm a glass artist who works in all aspects of glass- stained glass, fusing, borosilicate, etc.
3. Your favorite creation: My newest obsession are my Cherry Blossom pieces. Though they take 2-3 firings in the kiln over several days to create, I am completely enamored with and so very proud of them and the fact that I was able to produce the picture I had in my head.
4. How you learned your craft: My mother has been doing stained glass for the better part of 10 years. She had actually invited me to take her first beginning stained glass class with her. I declined thinking that it was an 'old lady hobby'. She persevered and I was able to watch as she learned and created new pieces. Her work area at home kept growing from just the kitchen table to the unused dining room to the full working studio with room to teach classes that my husband and brother-in-law built out for her in her basement. To make a long story short, she bought the glass store in our area and I went to work for her after having my 2nd child. I still had yet to even touch art glass, but immediately fell in love with it and jumped right in (not literally, of course). I caught on very quickly being a fast learner and having the opportunity to work with it full time (and get paid as well!). We started stocking fusing supplies and introduced our community to that glass art technique. Unfortunately, we have since had to close the store (darn economy), but we both now have a full studio at home. I work out of my basement and have the means to work cold, warm, and hot glass (stained glass, fusing, and lampworking).
5. Years you have been creating: I just passed 2 years working with glass this September.
6. Description of the item you are giving away: A White Cherry Blossom Branch Pendant. This stunning pendant spent a lot of time in the kiln prior to completion. I started by hand painting the branches on a white piece of glass. They were permanently fired on at 1500* F while pink frit was allowed to ball up into the blossoms at the same temperature. Once the glass annealed and cooled, the glass was put back in the kiln and the blossoms were attached to the pendant at 1300* F allowing them to keep their texture. All this time and heat produced a beautiful adaptation of a cherry blossom branch created in glass! Through the new year, I have a holiday sale running- 10% off and order over $10! Yeah...I know it says it is Wonderful Wednesday, and it is actually Tuesday. A few things before I get to the feature about the amazing Aneurythm...I apologize for my tardiness in posting the winner for last week's giveaway. I have been a bit busy to say the least! This is taken from the profile section on her Etsy page: Hello. I am a Native Upstate New Yorker who fled the snow in 1985 for "sunny" California. In 1997 I had a brain aneurysm that left me with some mild visuospatial impairment. I began making gemstone jewelry as a way of focusing. I found an internal rhythm to it, hence Aneurythm. My designs are very simple as you can see: from somewhat "traditional" to what I call the D2W (Dare to Wear). I only create with materials whose look and feel speaks to me. I use natural gemstones that are untreated/undyed/unheated (to my knowledge), seeds, shells, freshwater pearls, with sterling silver or gold filled beads. I sometimes call upon clear crystal or crackled glass to sing back-up in the rhythm section. The Laughing Dog avatar is Satchel the Wonder Pup who was my companion animal from 2001 to 2009

These creative passions led us in 2008 to start Brown’s Country Originals. The name came from living in the country and our last name.Hypertufa is a lite weight concrete. Besides the paper mache and chalkware we have a line of garden items my wife makes country/primitive hypertufa birdbaths, flower planters and flower pots. I make country/primitive wooden potting benches, planter and garden stakes.

4. How you learned your craft:I started making furniture .... I soon realized it took a lot of storage space. It was not eay to pack and unpack plus I needed a big truck to haul the furniture to shows. I decided I needed something that took up less space. For years I collected paper mache and chalkware Santas, so I decided to try and make some myself. Read various articles on ceating paper mache and chalkware ... experimented with various receipes and finally came up with one that worked for me.
5. Years you have been creating:I have worked with wood, chalkware, clay and papier mache for the past 20 years.

WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY FEATURED SELLER-LM WOOD TURNED ART

When I was younger, my grandpa (who has since passed away) used to make beautiful wood pieces on his lathe. They are now lovingly displayed in my parent's house. He and my grandmother also made intricate wood sculptures. I was always struck by how much he loved finding a piece of abandoned wood by the side of the road or from a friend. He truly had a gift, and was able to see the inherent beauty in the grain. I was looking through the forums the other day and found LM Wood Turned Art. It reminded me so much of my grandpa that I wanted to feature his amazing shop. From his profile:
I'm a retired Christian School Administrator who bought my wife a small lathe as a gift one year for Christmas. After dusting it off I found a new love for turning woods of all kinds. Now I create bowls, lamps etc. to sell locally in town. I love seeing the wood come to life and become something wonderful that people can enjoy as much as I enjoy working with it.

4. How you learned your craft: I actually learned how to make soap when my mom's friend needed another local soap maker for her bath and body store. I needed to bring in some extra income and then taught myself how to do everything. I read and studied for about 5-7 hours every day for about 3 months. I ate, slept, and dreamed about making soap. That was 3 years ago and I now have several shops around the Houston area that I sell to, along with my websites. 5. Years you have been creating: Over 3 years now.

Hi everyone! I am excited to bring you my first product review! I was fortunate to have the opportunity to review Dannie Glam, who makes handmade jewelry, candles, purses, and more! She sent me four wonderful items to review, and some very lucky customers of mine will receive them in their promo packs!

Shipping and Packaging: Everything arrived very quickly (2 days!!!) and was well packaged. Each item was individually bagged and bubble wrapped for extra protection. I also got some business cards and a handwritten note, which is always nice :-D

Green Gummy Bear Earrings: These are adorable, and look just like glittery gummy bears for your ears. They are made out of resin, and there are high quality silver toned earring posts attached. The size is perfect. The picture doesn't do this awesome color justice! It is almost fluorescent!

Pink and Silver Gummy Bear Earrings: Like the Green Gummy Bear Earrings, these are adorable.. They are also made out of resin, with high quality silver toned earring posts attached. They are the same size as the Green Gummy Bear Earrings. The combination of pink and silver looks awesome.

Pink Star Ring: This ring is shaped like a star. It is made out of resin and has a silver toned adjustable ring attached. It also has a tiny crystal attached to the center of the star!

Candy Ring: This seriously looks like a piece of candy on your hand! It is made out of polymer clay and has a silver toned adjustable ring attached. It is so cute, and looks like it is edible! It has been sealed and is shiny and spiffy looking! I think this is a must have for a chocoholic like me.

I was impressed with Dannie's items. She clearly knows what she is doing when it comes to resin casting, and I love the bright colors she uses. I encourage you to visit Dannie Glam's shop to see all of the awesome items she has for sale! I am eying a few pieces for myself :-D

WINTER CHARM SWAP

Hi everyone! I just participated in an AMAZING Halloween charm swap and I had so much fun!!! I just received them and it was so fun to see what cool things people made. I am going to go buy a Halloween Tree so I have a place to display them all. Thank you everyone for the awesome charms I received, and thanks especially to Michelle for hosting it!

I had so much fun that I want to do one! I would love to do a Winter charm swap! Would anyone be interested? I am thinking that I will have people sign up through the end of October. I am interested in doing some product reviews. I know this topic has caused some heated debates on Etsy, but I personally see nothing wrong with it. I have just sent some of my items for review as well, and if you have a blog too and are interested in exchanging items for reviews please let me know! Anyway, I would love to review some of your amazing products! What that means is that if you are interested, you will ship an item of your choice to me. I will evaluate it on shipping speed and packaging as well as reviewing the actual item itself. I will then post a detailed and fair review of your product including images. Pepper's Apothecary

I picked this shop because a few weeks ago, I decided to purchase the Happy Buddha Soap on a whim because it looked adorable. It was tough to pick a scent because so many sounded wonderful, but I settled on The Green Isle, which is described as:
Rainy, salty mist green notes made up of basil, green leaf and ozone notes with added notes of muguet lily, rose and jasmine.
It was amazing. My husband thought I was insane because I kept shoving it under his nose to sniff. (He liked it too!) I was so excited when I smelled it that I ordered more soap immediately. (I literally went on the computer and placed another order within a few minutes of opening the package.) This time, I ordered a So ap Sample Pack. I wanted to try a bunch of different scents, and somehow she managed to accomodate me by sending me everything I wanted...plus a few wonderful extras to try! I have since shown my soaps to friends, who have asked for them for Christmas. One of them tried to convince me I should give him some right there! I have never had a guy react to a bath product that way before lol. I truly loved every scent I received. My favorites were Rashieka, Blackberry Pie, and Stiletto. You can check out the different scents she offers by looking at any of her item listings. Here are my favorite items other than the ones I have already purchased and loved:
Trio of Soaps Basket (I want these so badly! These soaps make me feel relaxed just by looking at them...and I know how wonderful they would look in my bathroom!)

So I decided to play mad scientist with soap craft supplies my mother in law gave me. It was really just trial and error. A LOT of Error too. Several years later, I'm selling soap like a fiend.
5. Years you have been creating:I've been creating various things for a long time, but soap I just started about three years ago. Before that it was just photography and music that I created.

TUTORIAL-AWESOME ACRYLIC DIAMOND NECKLACE

Hi everyone! I have been fortunate enough to participate in the Totally Tutorials Exchange Program several times now! If you haven't heard about this AWESOME program, it basically matches up suppliers and artists. The suppliers offer supplies for free, in exchange for a tutorial using those supplies. For more information, tutorials, and chances to participate, please visit the Totally Tutorials blog!

On to my tutorial! I received a cool black Diamond Shape Pendant, a black Princess Crown Pendant, and a clear Heart Shape Pendant from Plexicutz on Etsy. I decided to use the Diamond Shape Pendant along with some clear faceted acrylic beads and silver toned chain to create a chunky, fun necklace!

Supplies:
Diamond Shape Pendant by Plexicutz

Twenty clear faceted acrylic beads

26 gauge silver toned wire (not pictured)
Medium weight silver toned chain, divided into twenty-one sets of three links each

Flat nosed pliers
Round nosed pliers

Begin by adding wire to the acrylic beads. Use your round nosed pliers to create loops on either end. You can use the wrapped loop method, but this is a bit faster and easier.

Separate the chain into twenty-one sections of three links each. Set one section aside; this will be for the pendant itself. Create the chain, alternating between three chain links and an acrylic bead. (Depending on the size of the chain you use you may need to use more link sections than this. The goal is to make the necklace long enough to slip over your head without needing a clasp or a toggle.)

Use your flat nosed pliers to attach the pendant to the chain with the three links you set aside earlier.

TUTORIAL-DOMED COPPER PENDANT NECKLACE

On to my tutorial! I received a cool Wooden Dapping Block With Punches from Evies Tool Emporium on Etsy. I decided to use it along with a copper disc and some cool ribbon to create a necklace.

Supplies:
Wooden Dapping Block With Punches from Evie's Tool Emporium

One Inch Copper Blank Disc Set from Evie's Tool Emporium

1.25 mm metal hole punch

Flat nosed pliers
Round nosed pliers

Rubber Mallet (not pictured)

Dremel/rotary tool with buffer attachment (not pictured)
Fine grit sandpaper (not pictured)
Micro Torch

Ribbon (Pictured here in an awesome jar I got at a garage sale for fifty cents!)

Leather cord (I used brown)

Two ribbon crimps (I used silver toned)

Two 5mm jump rings (I used silver toned)

A lobster clasp (I used silver toned)

Begin by placing your copper disc into the dapping block. Place it into the depression that is closest to the size of the disc.

Place the punch that is closest to the size of the disc against it, and lightly hit the other end with the rubber mallet. Do this until a round, even dome is acheived.

Take your hole punch and place it over the place in the disc where you would like the hole to be. Don't punch it too close to the edge, but don't punch it too far in because then a bigger jump ring will be needed. I recommend punching about 2mm in. Apply firm, even pressure.

Now for the exciting part! Take your domed piece of copper outside or to an area where it will be safe to use flame. Place it on a piece of firebrick or other heat resistant surface. Turn on the micro torch and apply flame to the surface of the copper. It will change colors rapidly, so I recommend applying the flame gradually. You will see reds, golds, greens, and blues. Stop when you reach a color you like. If you apply too much heat you may darken the surface more than you would like. If this happens, don't worry! You can sand the surface with a fine grit sandpaper and start over.(I didn't take pictures of this step because I didn't think using a camera and open flame at the same time would be a good choice for me...I am a bit clumsy :-/) Here is what it could look like!

Use a buffer on a dremel or other rotary tool to smooth out the surface and add shine. (Again, no image because I couldn't use both at the same time.) Set the copper piece aside for now.

Take the ribbon you would like to use and cut it to the desired length.

Do the same with your leather cord.

Use your flat nosed pliers to close the ribbon crimps around the ends of your ribbon. Be sure each strand is firmly secured in place. You can add a drop of glue for more strength.

Attach a jump ring to one of the ribbon crimps.

Attach a lobster clasp to the jump ring.

Using your flat nosed pliers, attach your copper piece to the ribbon and cord with a jump ring.

TUTORIAL-OCEAN CERAMIC AND FIBER PENDANT

On to my tutorial! I received an amazing ceramic pendant and ceramic beads from Shaterra on Etsy. I decided to use them along with some textiles I had to create a necklace that reminds me of the ocean. Please visit her shop and look at her beautiful beads, pendants, and supplies! I know that I will be a future customer.

Supplies:
Ceramic Pendant from Shaterra

Ceramic Beads from Shaterra

Eyelash yarn, ribbons, or other fun fibers that match the pendant

One jump ring (5mm or larger, I used silver toned)

Two ribbon crimps (I used silver toned)

One lobster clasp (I used silver toned)

One small paper clip (not pictured)

Flat nosed pliers

Round nosed pliers

Begin by deciding on a length for your necklace. Cut all of the fibers you are planning on using to the same length.

Take your paper clip and use your flat nosed pliers to create a V shape in one end. (You can also use any sort of wire that is small enough to fit through the opening to the pendant without damaging it; I just happened to have a paper clip sitting right next to me. )

Use the paper clip to grab the fibers and pull them through the opening of the pendant, creating a loop.

Pull the fibers through the loop to create a knot.

Use the paper clip to pull the fibers through each bead, placing them on either side of the pendant.

Use your flat nosed pliers to close the ribbon crimps around the ends of your fibers . Be sure each strand is firmly secured in place. You can add a drop of glue for more strength.

Attach a jump ring to one of the ribbon crimps and attach a lobster clasp to the jump ring.

I posted this in the Etsy forums but didn't get much of a response...I need to start posting things during the day rather than in the middle of the night lol. Anyway, I would love to put together some promo packs to send to my customers! I realize that I am new and haven't had as many sales as some of you, but I am slowly building up my inventory and getting there! TUTORIAL-EASY MICROSCOPE SLIDE PENDANT

Hi everyone! I have been fortunate enough to participate in the Totally Tutorials Exchange Program! If you haven't heard about this AWESOME program, it basically matches up suppliers and artists. The suppliers offer supplies for free, in exchange for a tutorial using those supplies. For more information, tutorials, and chances to participate, please visit the Totally Tutorials blog!

On to the tutorial! I received some beautiful collage sheets from Etsy shop Paper Street. The selection there is awesome! It was really hard to pick which sheets I wanted!!! I decided to use the Dancer's Digital Collage Sheet to create this microscope slide pendant. I call this easy because instead of soldering it, I used a premade frame. Both ways have their advantages, but I am not an experienced solderer so I figured this would be better :-D

Supplies:
Dancers Digital Collage Sheet from Paper Street

Transparencies
2 glass microscope slides (make sure you use ones with ground edges to be safe)

Ranger Polished Chrome Memory Frame

Scissors

Decide which images from the collage sheets you would like to use for the front and back of the pendant. It is much easier to get pre-sized images like Paper Street has in stock! That way you can just cut without measuring. Microscope slides are one inch wide and three inches tall.

Carefully cut out each image. If you want to draw on it, add glitter, or add other embellishments, do so now. Just keep in mind it has to stay relatively flat.

Decide if you would like to add a transparency over your image. These are a fun and quick way to add words or images to your pendant. If so, cut it out in a one inch by three inch rectangle. (You can use the image you just cut as a template.) You can choose to use transparencies on both sides, but I only added one to the front.

Position the transparency over the image to be sure it looks correct.

Grab two microscope slides. Hold them by the sides, or you will have visible fingerprints on the inside surface of the glass. Create a stack by putting the two images and transparency between the glass slides. Your stack should go in this order, from top to bottom:
Microscope slide
Transparency (facing up)
Image (facing up)
Image (facing down)
Second transparency (face down, if you used one, which I didn't here)
Microscope slide

Once you have your stack, set it aside for a moment and open the frame by sliding the tab out and pulling it open. Make sure you have it open enough to have room to manuever your slide stack into the frame.

Place the slide stack into the frame and carefully close the frame around it.

Close the tab. If you see fingerprints on the outside surface of the glass, wipe them off using a lint free cloth.

That's it! Many microscope slide pendants are soldered, but I like the fact that this version is so quick and easy. Soldering is also fun, but requires more materials, a proper setup, ventilation, and a lot of practice! This slide can still be embellished with charms, a cute chain, ribbon, and more! The possibilites are endless. I hope that this tutorial was helpful and will encourage you to visit Paper Street. I can't wait to make more slides and other pieces with the amazing collage sheets I received!

TUTORIAL-COPPER BOUQUET EARRINGS

On to my tutorial! I received a bag full of cool stuff from Black Sheep Beads on Etsy. I decided to use the Copper Twist Wire Connectors and the Teeny Tiny Copper Caps I received, along with some wire, ear wires, and coral colored beads to make some earrings. Please visit her shop and look at her beautiful supplies! I know that I will be a future customer.

Supplies:
2 Copper Twist Wire Connectors (1 for each earring)
6 Teeny Tiny Copper Caps (3 for each earring)

6 Coral colored beads (3 for each earring)

2 Copper ear wires (not pictured, 1 for each earring)
6 two inch lengths of wire (I used a copper coated base wire for mine, but you can use any sort of wire you would like, 3 for each earring)

Flat nosed pliers
Round nosed pliers
Side cutter pliers (not pictured)

Begin by creating a small spiral at the end of one of your wire pieces. Use your round nosed pliers to start it, then continue turning until the desired size is reached.

Slide a coral colored bead onto the wire. (Any small bead will work, but I love coral and copper together.)

Slide a Teeny Tiny Copper Cap onto the wire.

Create a wire wrapped loop and connect it to the copper twist wire connector.
To do this:
Bend the wire at a 45 degree angle using your flat nosed pliers.

Create a loop using your round nosed pliers.

Slide the newly created loop onto the Copper Twist Wire Connector.

Wrap underneath the bottom of the loop by holding the loop with your flat nose pliers and wrapping the short end of the wire around the long end underneath the loop. If there is extra after three wraps or so, trim it off using your side cutter pliers.

Repeat this entire process with two more wires.

Attach the Copper Twist Wire Connector (with the three wire wrapped pieces atttached to it) to a copper ear wire. Open the loop at the bottom of the ear wire carefully. Open it by twisting the loop, not pulling it apart. Then close the loop.

Repeat the entire process to create the second earring.

4. How you learned your craft: Well, that's a long story! It all started with my Papa, of course. I enjoyed learning how he built things for the house. He is a fantastic craftsman with a knack for precision, fixturing, and finishing. The smell of freshly sawn wood always reminds me of home. I learned much of what I know about woodworking from him, then took a different slant, added recycled wood material, and found a passion for what I do. Some of my craft has developed from our need to sustain ourselves.
5. Years you have been creating: Since High School, really. I began with sculpture in a variety of media. The recycled wood hobby began several years ago, but it has only been since November last year that it has began to pick up momentum, when I began advertising my work on Etsy. COMPUTER PROBLEMS-HELP

I have been having issues with my laptop lately, so my husband opened it up to try to fix it. (The screen was flickering to white with increasing frequency. He kindly pointed out that hitting it probably wasn't helping the situation, so he offered to check it out.) Evidently, as he was working on it today, he heard a pop and a tiny puff of smoke came out. Whether that was his fault or a random occurrence I don't know, but I do know that he was exhausted and I kept harassing him to finish it so I can't blame him either way. I know that can't be good, so I am less than optimistic that it will be fixed anytime soon. The odds of me being able to buy a new laptop in the near future are slim to none, so I won't be online as much. I will still update when I can! Please think good, healing thoughts for my laptop :-D

In other news, this month has been very slow so far in terms of Etsy sales. I am not sure why...possibly because I have been busy with work (I work full time at a nonprofit organization) and home obligations so I haven't been participating on the forums as much as usual. I would love some sales so I can add to my new laptop fund! Check out my store :-) I will be adding new items soon. Happy Friday everyone! My favorite season is upon us! I wish the weather would reflect it...where I live was in the 100s this week. I can't wait for the crispness to come into the air again. I know we don't really have seasons in California, but I can pretend we do!

While I love promoting as many people as possible, five at a time was a lot of work so I decided to do three at a time instead. I have been posting in the forums to see who wants features, and it has been hard to decide! I have seen so many amazing artists over the past few weeks! Here are the ones I selected for this week. Each shop I picked is run by jewelry artists who create pieces that are infused with spirituality and emotion.

I picked this shop because within it, there are so many different items that I love! Each piece has spiritual meaning behind it, and the item descriptions are wonderfully informative! I picked this shop because I love the unifying natural theme of the items. Each one is beautiful. It was really hard to choose only three to feature, but here are my favorite items:

The childrens song is just so unusual but I love the creepiness of it. 4. How you learned your craft: I have been collecting and using vintage pieces to make art to fill my homes since I was in my teens. I never knew until much later in life that it was considered a real form of art.

2. Description of what you make: Hunter To The Hunted is filled with my whims, my obsessions, my facinations and the inevitable results of my incessant hunting. It has a particular focus on unique and quirky jewellery and accessories. At the moment the store specialises in left of centre brooches made from wood, clay and vintage kimono fabric, but I am currently working on broadening the range to include neckware and other unique accessories and objects!
3. Your favorite creation: I love all of my creations, otherwise I would not be willing to share them with anyone else! If I did have to choose a particular item though, it would probably be the Making Tracks Clay Brooch. I love the simplicity of the white clay, partnered with the texture of the pattern.... just a simple, beautiful object!
4. How you learned your craft: While I do have a Degree in Fine Arts, that was in a completely different area to the one I currently explore. I do a lot of reading, I love looking at other people's art for inspiration and I read a lot of tutorials! Mostly though, I just make it up as I go along. I usually start off with a general idea of what I would like to make, but it always changes as I go and I love to try new things and see how they look!
5. Years have been doing your craft: Although I have been 'making' for myself and friends and family for around 10 years, I had never seriously considered the option of merging 'work' with 'making' until very recently and my Etsy shop is only a few weeks old!

I picked this shop because I really love jewelry that is simple, elegant, and easily wearable on a day to day basis. Every piece in this shop is all of those things! Here are my favorites:

The Starlet Harlot -- fabulous red and purple tulle headpiece with black roses on headband (These colors are amazing. Talk about making an awesome statement!!!)
Roaring Twenties-long black feathers with snazzy green gem (I love the 20's and love this shade of green, so this is an an obvious favorite with me!)

2. Description of what you make: fashionable clips and head pieces made out of glitter, feathers and flowers.
3. Your favorite creation: I think it would either be my piece called "Emerald City Goddess" or maybe "The Starlet Harlot". "Emerald City Goddess" was made of out an embellishment from my junior prom dress, yes, I'd held on to the piece for that long. I just knew that someday I'd do something fabulous with it and one day, boom, it just hit me, attach it to a headband. I could totally see someone going to the musical Wicked rocking it out. "The Starlet Harlot" was a challenge for me because it was the first time I'd worked with tulle. It isn't the easiest thing to work with and as I was designing the piece it just kept getting bigger and bigger and bigger. I like the piece because of the vibrant colors and I know that anyone wearing it will get compliments.
4. How you learned your craft: I am really observant and am not afraid to try new things. I like mixing textures and am not afraid to work with vibrant colors. I look at magazines like Cosmo Girl Prom, Lucky and simply scroll through the designers on Etsy to get inspired.
5. Years have been doing your craft: The first time I wore any sort of headpiece was last June. I was attending a big event and knew that anything I wore would be acceptable, so I got a cute black dress and put some feathers in my hair. It was a hit and I've been designing ever since. Normally, I just make a piece for myself before I'd go out, but now, being "fun-employed" I have the time I need to make it into a full time venture.

Hi everyone! I am actually doing my featured sellers on Friday, on time and everything :-D Sorry I haven't been consistent, but I am working on it. I posted in the Etsy forums about the opportunity of being featured, and I got so many wonderful responses!!! The choice was very hard, but I know that I picked wonderful Etsy sellers that I would personally love to purchase from. Featured Artist Number One: Lee Beads

I picked this shop because I have a love of lampwork beads and want to learn the craft...of the many talented lampwork artists on Etsy, Lee Beads is one of my favorites. I will definitely be purchasing in the future! Here are my favorite items:

I started in my garage and made my husband light the torch for me the first time, because I was afraid I would blow something up! I am self-taught with a lot of help from the internet, and friends online. Happily, I have never blown anything up ;).

I picked this shop because when I looked at it, I was sad that I didn't know about it when I got married! I would have loved to use some of the beautiful work. I love all of the different color and style variations in the pieces. Here are my favorite items:

4. How you learned your craft: When I was a stay at home mom, a friend of mine managed a floral shop and taught me the basics, bow making, tape and wire, and elements of floral design. I loved it so much that I starting disassembling any fresh arrangements I could get my hands on and became self taught. As it grew into a business, I attended various seminars and classes offered by the floral industry.
5. Years have been doing your craft: Over 20 years :-).

I picked this shop simply because the jewelry and bags are beautiful! I love the colors of all of the items, and would love to own several of these pieces! Here are my favorite items:
Handmade Blue Pearl Necklace (I can't say enough about this...EVERYTHING about it is lovely. I love the color, the beads, the pearls, and the toggle is gorgeous.)

2. Description of what you make: Handmade, one-of-a-kind designer-inspired handbags, jewelry and accessories for women. I will also be adding one home-dec holiday item in near future.
3. What is your favorite creation: I keep coming back to this fun Red party handbag crochet purse as my favorite. It's so happy yet elegant, and actually looks like a party all by itself, complete with it's own confetti! It would be great for all fun and party occasions! I also see it at a posh mardi gras party. I think it sums up my attitude for creating and my shop in general.
4. How you learned your craft: My grandmother taught me how to crochet at an early age and my mother and aunts filled in the blanks with knitting and sewing machine skills. My mother sewed many of my clothes, (I was always told I was the best dressed in school!) My father is a mechanical genius, and was always very good problem solving. I think having that as an example "rounded me out" because I learned from that how to find new ways to approach a project, find new techniques and new looks, etc.
5. Years have been doing your craft: What's in my Etsy shop reflects a relatively new phase in my creative journey (within the last 3 years or so). But, I've been making and experimenting "forever". I have a broad range of interests, from gardening, cooking, home dec, needle arts, and many phases of crafting. So, my creative path is ever evolving and builds upon itself. I can't wait to discover and perfect something new!!!

Hi everyone. Thanks to a post made by Robin that can be found on her blog here, I will be doing what I can to boycott the sponsors of the Eagles for hiring the dog killer Michael Vick. It makes me sick to think that there are people out there volunteering their time to help animals that people like Michael Vick have tortured, when Michael Vick himself is being rewarded with a handsome paycheck. In my opinion, two years of prison does not serve justice to the beautiful, defenseless dogs that he slaughtered.

I think I am so passionate about this because two years ago, I got my first dog. (I am 28) Because of terrible asthma and allergies growing up, I lived in a room with linoleum floors, had daily breathing treatments, and certainly could not have pets. I once had to go to the ER to get an adrenaline shot for petting a rabbit in my kindergarten class. As I got older, my health improved and pets became a possibility. My husband Mark and I had birds, but not anything furry. One afternoon, he was driving to the DMV and a little dog ran out in front of his car. He stopped, and the dog ran to a parking lot and curled up in a little trembling ball in a bush. Mark coaxed him out, and got him in the car. Over the next few weeks we fell in love and realized that he had been abused. He flinched when we pet him, and was very anxious. We never found the owner, and so we got him chipped and checked at the vet. His name is Buddy, and he has changed my life in ways I never thought possible. Here is a picture.

So yeah, I am a little bit late lol. My husband and I are planning a vacation beginning tomorrow, he just dropped off some of his art at Comic-Con on Friday (the pieces were being featured at both the William Stout Booth and the Dark Horse Comics booth), and I just made my first international sale today! Woo hoo! We have been a little bit busy, to say the least. Oh, and I worked all weekend. (I work full time at a nonprofit.)

On to my featured seller! When I first saw her pieces, I fell in love IMMEDIATELY. I love koi and all things koi related, such as koi ponds. She makes different types of items, but my favorites are the koi pond pendants and jewelry boxes. I love the colors she uses in her work as well. Look!
